It's twelve o'clock with three days to go,
this week is going by extra slow.

I just can't wait to drive the rig up the hill,
and meet with everyone at the Flying J grill.

We'll meet with old faces and new,
all wanting to fire our bullets straight and true.

We'll be glassing ridges and walking hell holes,
bumping into turkeys, coyotes, cow elks and bulls.

But the one thing that we all strive for,
is to drop a hog dead on the floor.

Then comes the field dress, dragg'in and skinn'in,
wondering how many pounds, the jackpot, will be winn'in.

There will be plenty of BS'in and stories a told,
the Speckmisser ridge and One track gun explosion just never gets old.

All in all we'll have a great time,
At Tejon Ranch Ham Slam 07, chasing swine.

Carl, you're just saying that so he'll give you a chance to shoot this year.

He's also driving this year with his Jeep so I can really relax and not worry about any more pinstriping that I can't seem to rub out on my truck. Also the accomodations will be first class hope we don't oversleep.

You'll probably be worried that the thing will break down so it will be almost as bad as me putting the F-250 down that jeep trail a few years ago.

Nice poem Suz.

Sacre' bleu!!

Work changed my on call week and I'm trying like a madman to get out of it this weekend. I'll know in the next day.

What's happens if I can't go. GEt money back? I could still go and if I get called just go for the call and come back I guess.

DO we still need the fire dept check before we get on in Frazier Park?

I came back to work one year from deer hunting and my a-hole boss said "You're fired for taking so much time off to hunt". Kewl!!

That started my first 6 month hunting sabbatical. One of the best times of my life. Drained the savings and had a ball.

Jesse,

My initial response is the same as Rancho's.

My second response is, that would suck but you gotta do what you gotta do.

If you can't make the hunt, Barbara will probably help you with a refund or a raincheck...although I don't think there are any more hunts this season.

Do you still have your explorer pass? If you still have a key, you can come and go as needed. It's not THAT far. Or you could just bring a base station and generator up to the ranch and "telecommute".

No fire check required any more, but you are still responsible if your vehicle starts a fire. Recommend getting a voluntary check if you can, and of course, carrying a fire extinguisher, shovel, and water is not just a requirement, it's a REAL good idea.

Dang, thanks, Deedy!

That might be worth making it back to camp in time for the raffle!

Guys, make sure you get raffle tickets from Jesse (or me, if Jesse can't be there) on Friday. All of this will be taken care of as soon as we get into camp and get settled. Don't worry about rushing out to hunt... the days are long this time of year.

Hey fellas

One more time... anyone who doesn't think they will be able to make it to the Tejon Ranch by 1030 on Friday morning, please let me know ASAP.

If you need my cell phone number, drop me an email.

I'm hitting the road tomorrow around 2 or 3 tomorrow afternoon. I'll be at a motel tomorrow night, and should have internet connectivity so I will check in one more time prior to the big event.

Got my on call at work covered.

Uncle CLetus couldn't be with us so he's donating a fine gift for the raffle.

THis here is one of the finest trailer crappers I've ever seen. Rabbit fur lined seat with "Comfort Squeeze" foam, it shapes to your buns.

I can't have one of those... I'd never get the wimmin-folk out of the camper if they knew they didn't have to go squat in the poison oak to take care of business.

Still... is that the one with the built in bidet? Might be handy on a cold morning.

Hey! Are we there yet?

It's with a heavy heart that I write I will miss the May hunt this year. I had every intention on making this an annual event for me (even got the plane ticket) but external forces seen to it that this year was not in the cards. I vow as I sit here today that I will NOT miss another May Tejon hunt as long as they take place. I hope to have things cleared up and behind me soon and look forward to a much needed hiatus to SD and hang with One track for a day or four. Bro thanks for being a pal and all the understanding, your one in a million dude

Have a blast guys, much luck to all.... May your bullets fly strait and your beer stay cold.....

Tom, we sure will miss you this year, but I'm already working out details for the 5th annual Tejon/JHO POR.
