Wow this forum died quick after the season ended. Just because the season is over doesn't mean you guys should stop participating. So what is everyone up to on their off season? I'll start. I am not hunting or fishing at the moment but I do have a couple of camping trips planed with my friends up at Sequoia NF, I'll try not to drink to much. I did get a new duck gun (Extrema 2) love it and have been shooting skeet almost every weekend. Other than that and school, I'm waiting for the season to start again

If you want to improve your bird shooting skills, you should try sporting clays. In my experience, sporting clays helped more than trap or skeet shooting. In fact, I think trap shooting actually set me back in the early years. I didn't really learn how to shoot until I tried sporting clays and I guess my dove hunt in Argentina didn't hurt either.
To answer your question, I plan on going on a turkey/hog hunt and a few fly fishing trips. That should keep me busy until next season.
I also shoot sporting clays. Usually go to Moore-N-Moore, a little price compared to others but they have a nice variety of different clay flying patterns.

No hunting or fishing for myself. Been training since January, getting ready to deploy to Baghdad this coming May. I've got a couple weeks off, starting this weekend, so I'll be back in Cali having a go at the stripers and maybe even try to sneak in a turkey hunt or two.
Umpiring Baseball, remodeling my house. Waiting for duck season.
"Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies, and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen."
Turkey huntin, pig huntin, shooting my bow, waiting for deer season, scouting the delta for new duck spots, filling the voids with bass fishing. It's a rough life but I will suffer through!

Headed back out to North Dakota tonight to do some more Snow and Blues Hunting. Had a great time about 3 weeks ago. We shot close to 100 over dekes in 3 days of hunting. Hopefully this warm weather will bring some Juvies up.

I'm still into the ducks. I'll get a 2 drake harvest on Roens this weekend. Then I'll be sorting through an Indian Runner nest (See avatar to left) for infertile eggs. I have 4 hens brooding and will hope to have a big batch of birds by late summer. We were raising ducklings for a wildlife rehab center for a couple of summers. Most of the birds are Easter chick discards.
I have trout trips planned, a scouting trip or two, a tune-up backpacking trip hopefully in August. If I beat those 1300 -1 odds and pull a billy goat tag I'll be scouting every other weekend all summer long.

I'm going to a DU Dinner this weekend, so still in the ducks a little bit. After that its time to finish things around the house. I need to landscape the backyard(if it ever stops snowing!!), texture and paint the garage, seal the deck, seal the garage floor, look for a trailer, but some more full bodies, get handloads dialed in for elk/deer season.....just a quick list off the top of my head.
Have a good summer, goose season will be here before you know it!!
Starting to plan my own and some friends of mine with guiding services and set them up for spring snow goose hunts! I can;t wait for next year already, i'm surprised how fast these things book up!
Working hard on traditional archery to hopefully hunt with a recurve instead of my compound this year. Hunting turkeys and pigs. Getting all the projects done at home I've put off since last hunting sesaons. Found a lease of a blind in Los Banos for next season, looking for a cheap trailer to put there for the season.
Shooting turkeys with cedar arruhs. Talking to them just like the ducs
