Figured I had worked enough this week and took off aroun 1:30 Friday afternoon. I went home, grabbed my gear and headed to a new spot that I had found last weekend. Well in a few hours I had 5 Mallards and one Gadwall. It was a fun afternoon![]()

Nice man, you crushed it!
Scouting pays off huh?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>Yeah it does. I try and scout 2-3 times a week if I am not able to hunt. We have been getting a good amount of rain, more and more areas have been filling up with water. These new spots have a lot of green forage and the birds seem to just crave it.Scouting pays off huh?[/b]

How do you hunt them in OK? Are you jump hunting or hunting over decoys?
We will jump them and sometimes do a drive by![]()
Seriously though, I hunt them the way I did in Cali. Wake up at 4am, launch the boat and set up a ton of decoys. It is defintely fun and have met some really good people here in Ok.

Drive by's huh.... You should try hunting them with a punt gun, and follow up with Long Tom Browning A5's just like the market hunters in the olden days. It would be a kick in the ass! 300 duck days!!
