Figured I had worked enough this week and took off aroun 1:30 Friday afternoon. I went home, grabbed my gear and headed to a new spot that I had found last weekend. Well in a few hours I had 5 Mallards and one Gadwall. It was a fun afternoon

Yeah it does. I try and scout 2-3 times a week if I am not able to hunt. We have been getting a good amount of rain, more and more areas have been filling up with water. These new spots have a lot of green forage and the birds seem to just crave it.

How do you hunt them in OK? Are you jump hunting or hunting over decoys?

We will jump them and sometimes do a drive by

Seriously though, I hunt them the way I did in Cali. Wake up at 4am, launch the boat and set up a ton of decoys. It is defintely fun and have met some really good people here in Ok.

Drive by's huh.... You should try hunting them with a punt gun, and follow up with Long Tom Browning A5's just like the market hunters in the olden days. It would be a kick in the ass! 300 duck days!!
