Does such an beast exist? My six year old is a little small for his age(had some health problems) no way he could handle a full size rod. If I could find something for him maybe we could learn together(I bought a inexpensive martin for myself). I know I'm probably chasing shadows but if you don't ask you'll never know right? Thank you for any and all responses.

    Look at LLbean.

They have a youth rig that does not cost to much.

Thanks for the heads up. But at ###7' what makes it a youth model? I was thinking it would be scaled down in size for someone that young. Thanks again.

If the rod is smaller it will become harder to cast. My eight year old daughter started with a 9ft rod. The seven foot rod will work fine for him as long as the expectations are not for him to make a 40 yard cast.
