    Thumbs up

I drew quota permits for Chassahowitzka(gun) and Upper Hillsborough(archery) this year. I have never hunted either WMA. I am looking to hopefully get a deer.

Anyone ever hunted either of these WMAs before? Any suggestions on areas to scout?

I was looking to go up to Chassahowitzka this weekenf to do some scouting.

if you check anywhere along the hillsborough river you might have some luck.for chassahowitzka head toward the gulf.there are some thick swamps that hold deer.

I have hunted Chass for the past seven years. It is a good WMA, a lot of nice deer come out of there. Also quite a few hogs now, almost too many. I have a Quota, but, haven’t been able to use it been to busy with every thing else. I usually hunt the back through Riles creek. If you have never been in that way go early and check your tides first. If there is an East wind forget it. And plan on chewing up at least one prop a season. The front is good hunting too during the quota, just too many people during the remainder of the hunt.
