I recently bought a used 30-30 winchester 94. It's got a 20" barrel, what looks like an 18" magazine, it doesnt appear to have any external safety, doesn't have half cock either on the hammer. Can anyone tell me what year this gun was made and which model it is? The serial is 5306***. All the model 94s I look at looke like the magzine is the same length as the barrel. But this one is noticably shorter.
For me, it's be easier if you posted a picture. Does it have a straight stock or a pistol grip stock?
Alright...it is a ranger...i know that much. Another question. Is my gun supposed to not have a half cock safety or is that normal on this model? Every other lever gun ive shot has had a half cock. It is really sketchy for me to walk around with a round in the chamber without knowing if the gun will fire by accident or not.
