I hope you all don't mind a question from a non-res hunter.
This year will be my first year going to Illinois on a hunt. The dates show 6-01 through 6-30. Does that mean I go on-line with the outfitter number anytime during those dates and put in for the lottery drawing on the permit? Do I need to be in a rush and do it on the first of June? When is the drawing held? I've read the info on the state web site about all license requirements and not to purchase them until you are officially drawn.
Basically, I'm looking for how the process works. I'm would appreciate any and all info and hope that ya'll are not opposed to an out of stater asking about it.

Yes, after asking around and then getting through to Illinois DNR on day 1.....it's all done. Just waiting for the draw. At the end of last week I think it was,.......a co worker called in and they told him they had received 8000+- apps towards the 20,000 available archery permits. I'm in on the first 7500 with the outfitter preference.
