The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the shooting, hunting and firearms industry. Formed in 1961, the National Shooting Sports Foundation is a not-for-profit organization with a membership of more than 4,800 manufacturers, distributors, retailers, sportsmen's organizations and publishers.

The Managing Director, Marketing Communications for the National Shooting Sports Foundation will report to the Senior Vice President and be responsible for leading the NSSF communications, safety and education efforts through a range of public relations and communications and branding functions.

Among the responsibilities of this position, individual will lead proactive media and public relations campaigns incorporating unique NSSF developed data tied to broad news and industry-specific trends; implement the strategic plan and development of partnerships that enhance the effectiveness of NSSF; Craft the production of all outbound marketing communications materials such as press releases, company collateral, corporate Web site copy, white papers, e-mail campaigns, etc.; Motivate and lead the communications, safety and education staff and NSSF partners to achieve the organizational goals stated in the strategic plan; Cultivate long-standing relationships with the media, including reporters, news editors and industry analysts.

Position is located in Newtown, Connecticut.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Participatory leadership style that fosters teamwork.

* Demonstrated ability to build consensus among a broad constituency.
* Minimum 5-years experience in marketing communications.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
* Experience doing print, radio and TV interviews
o Excellent problem-solving skills.
o Ability and willingness to travel extensively and on short notice.
