Fin Feather Fur Outfitters Named ATK Dealer of the Year For Second Year in a Row

ANOKA, Minnesota – A familiar face was presented the ATK 2007 Dealer of the Year Award earlier this month at the record-breaking SHOT show. Mike Goschinski was honored for the second year in a row, and the third time in four years.
Goschinski’s Ohio-based Fin Feather Fur Outfitters continues to improve on their recent success. After taking home last year’s award thanks to a 30% increase in overall sales, they again increased their business by about the same amount, and are excited to be honored. “We’re just flattered,” said Goschinski. “Winning this award for the third time is attributed to the employees that work with me and have stood by me. It is also because of ATK and our extremely talented sales rep. The applause goes right to these people.”
When Goschinski was named the 2006 ATK Dealer of the Year, it marked the first time there was a repeat winner. “Once you get behind a company product line, and that company gets behind you, it’s like a marriage that works very well,” said Goschinski. “Their product line, from trap throwers to bi-pods to rests to ammunition, just really fits our business model.”
Fin Feather Fur Outfitters’ award is great news for a few reasons. First and foremost, it shows that even the dealers performing at the highest levels can see a dramatic increase in business. Second of all, it shows ATK is dedicated to recognizing the top performer, regardless if they were last year’s award winner. “Every year we work to honor the best of our Premium Partners,” said Director of Domestic Sales Mike Halleron. “Fin Feather Fur Outfitters had another impressive year. They again took their business to the next level. We’re happy to see Goschinski, and all of our other dealers, do so well.”
ATK’s Premium Partner program has been in place for six years, and was created to help dealers such as Fin Feather Fur Outfitters succeed in today’s competitive market. “The terms, and things like freight, are easy to work with,” said Goschinski. “They’ve figured out how to do business with the independent dealer. And it’s working. Hopefully other dealers see this as the company they want to work with.”
Halleron touched on the importance of the independent dealers to ATK. “Our Premium Partners are a vital part of our business,” said Halleron. “Without them, we wouldn’t be able to succeed. As we move forward, we’ll continue to look for more ways to help our dealers.”
With over 1300 Premium Partners, ATK works hard to support the businesses that are the backbone of the industry. Recently, accessories has been a big focus for ATK, and a great growth opportunity for all dealers. “Overall we’re continuing to see impressive numbers,” said Halleron. “This is a good sign for the industry as a whole. There’s no doubt that the accessory market has been a big one for us lately, but ammunition sales still remain very high. Anyone that was at the 2008 SHOT Show knows the outdoor industry continues to thrive.”
Goschinski and his employees also have big plans for another great year. “We won’t let up. We were very aggressive in 2007, and plan on being more aggressive in 2008. I just want to thank ATK, my employees and my customers. Ultimately, without them, this wouldn’t be possible.”
