Palin's "cheat sheet" moment
You know, she got "ambushed" when asked an unfair question she was not prepared for, like "What newspapers do you read."
And sometimes it's hard to remember your "talking points" when you have been to 5 colleges.
So, faced with a softball interviewer, our Sarah made sure that she had her talking points written on her hand so she would not forget or same something stupid like "death panel" or "misunderestimate."
Here's the youtube video if you missed this live, which I certainly did.
The scary thing is, none of this surprises me at all. And none of her supporters will be bothered by it in the least.
This idiot is preferred by Republicans in polls right now for 2012. It would be funny if it were not so serious. (btw, its not about her positions, you can argue with those, it's about the fact that she is dumb as a brick, but everyone already knows that.)

She's supposedly a "hockey mom" but doesn't know what icing is?
The Rhinos are in trouble if they trot out Sarah in 2012.

Hey Doofus,
She isn't in office, isn't running for anything, and is far superior to Obummer.
What's your hang up with her? Worry about the non-citizen in DC who is trying to turn your country into a socialist financial disaster.

Whats the difference between her using a cheat sheet and the POTUS having to rely on a teleprompter? You call her an idiot. I bet SHE knows that there are 50 states in our union(unlike the brilliant POTUS who thinks there are 57) I'll also bet that she is smart enough not to make fun of the special olympics. Liberals have a real hard time accepting opposing views without attacking the source, yet claim to be "open-minded" and "tolerant". I have found that what they really mean when they call themselves that is that they are more willing to accept and embrace perversions that conservatives will not. Doofus, you sound bitter towards Mrs. Palin. What has she ever done to you? And why do you continue to propagate this attack on her? I don't hear you attacking every gaff that the POTUS and VPOTUS make. As far as I can see, more stupidity has come from their camp in the short time that they have governed than from Mrs. Palin. Obama cannot form a simple sentence without half a dozen uh's thrown in. I think that progressive/liberal types are so threatened by strong intelligent conservative women that they cannot help themselves but attack them. I hear the same drivel about Ann Coulter and Michele Malkin. If these attacks were aimed at liberal women, you'd be screaming that they are victims of misogyny. Chew on tha one for a while.

Really....your upset that she wrote down a few notes on her hand. If you weren't wearing liberal blinders you might be more upset that the president of the United States made a world wide apology tour and couldn't even pass one of his "priority bills" with a senate super majority.
Yes, the media did a wonderful job destroying a brilliant women with one of the best approval ratings a governor has ever had and you are a sheep my friend. Nice job jumping on that bandwagon.

…the outrage on the left is being completely misunderstood by the right. Democrats don’t mind that she needed a few notes for her speech. They’re upset that Sarah used her hand, proving once again that she is an unsophisticated hick. Everybody knows that whether you taking to sixth grade classroom, or talking dirty to the First Lady, using anything other than a presidential level teleprompter is simply pedestrian.
|
Quote:
I’m not sure what substantive argument Palin’s hand-notes are supposed to underline, and I suspect it’s not an argument so much as an attitude. The attitude would be that writing on your hand is dumb and low-class. On the left, where this opinion of Palin already prevails, anything which reinforces it will be picked up and cheerfully passed around. And, to the extent that anyone not on the left notices this giddy snobbery, it will play to Palin’s strengths.
For example, one might say: “Unlike the guy who needs a three thousand dollar teleprompter to get out of bed in the morning, Palin speaks from concise notes like everybody else. And, like other busy moms, she sometimes writes notes on her hand.” The comeback is so obvious that, again, I really can’t figure out why Palin’s detractors are bringing this up at all. (emphasis added)

Reason #2: They’ll grasp at anything, anything at all to distract from their fallen savior and his ubiquitous crutches:

“It doesn’t get much greener than writing notes on your hand, does it? It costs a bit of ink and a bit of soap to wash it off. No teleprompter which uses energy. No paper which kills trees. The Left should be consistent and applaud her greenness.”

doofus... nice screen name. Is this the best you can come up with ? Seriously, come on. She has 5 or six words written on her hand. This is an excuse to go on a Sarah palin rant ?
I don't support her running for president, but I think she has a place in politics right now. It's golden that she is not running for office, yet still drives left wing drivel spewers nuts. I support her for this 100%.

I do not see Palin as "brilliant" at all, and to me that is a positive. The brilliant ones a la Al Gore and Barak Obama, get tired with the foundational laws that have made our country #1 in a scant 200 years and they want to change them. I dont need brilliant. In fact, I think that the brilliant ones are way out of touch with us regular old dummie dum dumbs. I am not throwing my hat in the ring for her, but I am suggesting that maybe this country needs to try a regular person in the White House, instead of the qualifications being- what college you were created from, or from what aristocrasy you were derived. John Edwards was right when he stated that there are two America's. Except one, is the ruling class which has no freaking idea what the hell real life is like (for the most part), and the rest of us i'gits who will foot the tab for them and everyone else to continue spending money we dont have on useless crap like it was the Final Showcase Round of The Price Is Right. If all she accomplishes is to show that there is a group leading this country who thinks it is far, far better than the rest of us, and we need to knock them down a few notches to get their attention...I consider it a win for everyone.

Oh yeah, and just to play the other card doofus. She did write this stuff on her hand, and it looks as if she remembered to say it too. It aint like she mispronounced CORPSE-man four different times in the same speech. Maybe our president didnt know how to pronounce it because it was way above his pay grade?

Morals and integrity rank much higher than intelligence in my book. Obummer has a gaggle of speech writers and advisers. Doing the right thing and appointing good people around you is the key. We all know how good Obama is at appointing good people. I hope the GOP has someone better than Palin to throw out there, but I would take her hands down over Obama, Biden, Pelosi, or any other left wing nut job the Dems would have to offer. She has more integrity in her pinky than all those other three have combined.

G O P will probably throw Romney out there and the media will love it (because he is just like Bush, a progressive with a formerly connected daddy) , so he will win the primary. And we will continue to be in the same boat we are in. I like Sara, I like what I think she stands for. She has to come to terms with some things like her continued support and loyalty to McCain and supporting his senatorial re election is one of them. I don't think we know who her advisors would be, I bet they would likely be run-of-the-mill G O P hacks who are not conservative. She is a very energizing gal but I am not convinced she is the "female Reagan" that many people think she is. S/T

I find it astonishing how in this day and age someone on a hunting forum could go and bash the only nationally public pro hunting figure i can recall. if anyone believes what we got now is the best and the brightest than to hell with that, intelligence means squat i will go with someone who has actually accomplished something

That's a great point. An intelligent, beautiful, pro hunting, conservative, patriotic women. What more do you guys want?
I might have embellished a little earlier by calling her brilliant but she is a very smart women with a great deal of leadership experience, and common sense. It really makes me mad to watch the liberal media portray her as an idiot. They are very afraid of a conservative women with a leadership role.

Palin is a threat to Liberal's Idealogy because, she's not a feminist. I think the media has completely tarnished her reputation, and she couldn't make a successful run for President. However, as was mentioned before she does have interigity, and in the White House we have now. That counts for more than any college degree or "qualification".

OK, let's turn this around. Picking on Sarah's qualifications or crib sheets seems to be fair game, so how about a list of barry's qualifications and his actual successes? Or just name one positive thing he has done since his swearing in, and I don't mean just blame bush...

First, I have always believed that there is a broad streak of anti intellectualism running through conservatism in this country. I used to call it "aggressive ignorance." "Grandpappy didn't know nothing, Daddy didn't know nothing, etc." Plenty of responses back up this belief. Faced with overt evidence that Palin is stupid some people acknowledge it and either move on or try to make it a virtue.
Second, attacking other politicians does not actually answer the charge that Palin is stupid. Palin is stupid, period, end of story.
Third, attacking the original poster as a "sheep" or some other term also does not answer the charge that Palin is stupid. You are welcome to believe what you like about me, and Palin is stupid.
Fourth, and I'm surprised I'm having to explain this. Virtually all politicians from Palin to Obama to Reagan have used a teleprompter when giving speeches. But that is not the same as having to look at your hand during an INTERVIEW with a friendly host. Palin has a problem in interviews because she has to speak extemporaneously and that is when she has all these moments when you can see right through her brain. She can't even answer what newspapers she reads for heavens sake. I have never seen anyone look at their hand during an interview before, ever, and certainly not on friendly ground like a teaparty interview.
Fifth, you could go to some hack like Malkin who defends Palin by presuming that "liberals" are "outraged" and block quote something in from a hack. That is especially impressive when you have to rely on "analysis" from someone else.
So I should be clear on a few things.
Palin is an idiot. And if you don't believe me, read virtually anything from the people who worked with her during the last campaign who are not still working for her. Her lack of basic common knowledge is breathtaking and the people who had to prep her for debate were stunned. Oh, and she is not a fundamentally honest person either, but that is another charge, not for this thread.
I am not "outraged" or scared, or anything else by Palin. I think she represents a significant portion of the electorate who view her ignorance as a positive thing. And I wake up every morning hoping the Republicans nominate her for President in 2012.
Please run Palin, please. I want this person speaking for conservatism in America so everyone can see what it really is. Please nominate this idiot.

Oh, now that is enlightening...
Typical liberal answer, deflect and deny.
Oh wait, I have to give some credit for not using the "it's GWBs fault" answer...

Stupid, idiot; can't even say what newspapers she reads.
Reminds me of a Thomas Jefferson quote: "The man who reads nothing is better educated than the man who reads nothing but the newspaper."

Funny Doofus, I have always believed there is a broad streak of ignorance running through the liberal or "progressive" movement in this country.
I'm sure on some level you think you have the all knowing wisdom necessary to point your finger at Sarah Palin and call her stupid but regurgitating liberal talking points you learned on the Jon Stewart show doesn't qualify you in any way.
Please continue to speak up and voice your opinion so my fellow hunters can see liberalism for what is really is.
I'm glad you like your politicians polished, by the way, Sarah Palin knows what a Hospital Corpsman is...

White House mocks Sarah Palin from podium

Even the White House's top spokesman is getting in on the act of mocking former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin for looking to talking points written on her palm during a speech to "tea party" activists.
Robert Gibbs showed the words "hope" and "change" on his hand as he started his daily briefing with reporters on Tuesday.
