threatened or not, and 100% sure of what I was looking at....... that bigfoot is going down, and any littlefeet running with it.
If it's brown its down :-)

Remind me not to wear any monkey suits during hunting season :-)

Actually, that's a LAW that SHOULD be on the books... Just to cover us hunters who do end up taking the shot. If some fool is out in the woods doing a big-foot prank video during hunting season (especially during bear season) by wearing some suit - and they get shot - it's their own damn fault.

On the bright side - they would be taken out of the human gene pool - we'll all be better off :-)

DFG just announced Bigfoot regs for next year.

You'll need a Bigfoot enhancement stamp 29.95 (weather you draw or not)
Submit a Bigfoot application 19.95 (non refundable)
If drawn you will need to pay 947.36 for your tag and attend a DFG approved Bigfoot ID class.
which is 17 hours of class time at 328.32

If you kill a BF you must turn over the entire carcus within 4 hours to DFG and loose all ownership of said carcus.

I just knew this would end up being a worthwhile "waste of time" - i.e. A VERY entertaining thread with little to no real value.

Keep it up. Nothing better to do while there are no seasons open yet.

How can they have a law against shooting something that isn't proven to exist?

What are the penalties? I'm pretty sure "bagging one" would be worth AT LEAST $1 MIL - so if it's a $300 fine, It would be worth it money wise :-)

If you REALLY want to laugh... I (or at least the software company I started) won an "AWARD" from PETA!!!!

We make a "fish" screen saver - one of the smaller products we shipped a while back. You've probably seen them - it's the "aquarium" software - where there are "virtual goldfish/etc" that "swim across your screen"...

PETA gave us an award for that (out of the blue) - evidently we have saved the lives of millions of goldfish who would have been trapped in confined tanks. :-) Yes, I'm SERIOUS....

I told the product manager who "picked up the award" to wear a leather jacket to the ceremony :-)

I would have gone up on that stage wearing leather pants, a seal skin coat, rabbit fur hat with antlers on a sled pulled by dogs!

"Saving goldfish from captivity" - WTF? how bout saving them by putting them into a bowl and feeding them every day, giving them clean water etc. As if a goldfish would know the difference anyway? what a bunch of whack jobs! Peta needs to go buy a dictionary and look up Anthropomorphism and personify....

Hey, what you gonna do - the award probably increased our sales some - and thus gave me more money to spend on hunting.

:-)

I have nothing against taking the money from PETA supporters who bought our product. Everyone who loves goldfish should buy our fish screen saver. Those out of state sheep tags are expensive - I have to pay for them somehow.

Anyway - back to the main thread of "big-foot" - sorry for the diversion to an unrelated topic.... :-)

you just have to make sure you have a bear tag, just in case it IS some kind of bear.

So, if I've got a bear tag, and shoot someone in a bigfoot suit, am I charged with murder.... might have to use the SSS method on that one

Hmm.

There are a few DFG people who read these msgs (although I'm not sure this thread!) - that would be a good question for them. I'm pretty sure it would be considered an "accident" vs "murder".

Certainly you need to be SURE of your target - not just "bigfoot", but deer, elk, bear, etc... That goes without saying...

But under the right "light"/"conditions" etc - some idiot in a Bigfoot suit could look like a bear.

I doubt any Judge/Jury would blame the hunter for taking a shot, during bear season (assuming they had a bear tag), at what he "thought" was a bear, but turned out to be an idiot human in a fur outfit.

If I've got my shirt off, I may be mistaken for a bigfoot, but I've got a huge white forehead, that seems to get bigger and bigger every year. So, if you see something that looks like bigfoot, but has a reseading hair line, don't shoot. It's just me.

If it's that big, I believe it's called a "Fivehead"... that's one more than four!

But isn't Bigfoot magical thats why we can't find/see them.

Could big foot exist of course but man we are some pathetic creatures if we havn't found sign of them yet. Oh and that old video is soo hokey. A buddy of mine wanted to do a video blair witch project style where me and another buddy go out hunting bigfoot .

Hey there are alot of believers out there. In talking around the office today about this guy's story there were a lot of people who believe. Another person told me they say it as well today when they were a kid. I have spent a lot of time in the Sierras and over on the Coast Range never saw anything but bear, deer, bunnies, bobcat, yots etc. But as I said before this is a great excuse to go scout and get my wife to say ok to the idea. I am going to pick up a pig tag and bring my 300WSM. If it is out there I will drop it this weekend claim I was pig hunting and blamooo deadfoot. There are some piggies up there so there is the chance to come back with a nice hog. Want to make a nice ham and some salumi.

:-) Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm the ONLY person on this site that has won an award from PETA. If someone else has, I WOULD LOVE to hear the story - it's got to be as funny as mine.

I'm very proud of the award. Think of all those poor goldfish that have been spared a life spent in a cramped glass bowl. Family cats looking at them all the time (and occasionally "getting one", kids that forget to feed them, don't clean the tanks, etc - I'm just doing my part to make the world a better place - having them swim across your screen is much more humane... We should all "feel" for those poor fish....

We even expanded the "Aquazone product line" - Open Water, Bass Edition, Oceans of the World, etc... The running internal joke is that we've done about as much as we can do - the only thing left is to do a "plankton version" - but having little green blobs floating around your screen probably wouldn't sell as well. But think of all the plankton that could be saved!

- Darryl

p.s. So how much longer before A-Zone starts - I really need to go kill something - I only have a couple deer steaks left from last year left in the freezer.

Here's the link to the "awards"... Just so you know I'm not pulling your leg...

OK - I'm done with this now - my side hurts from laughing. I'm in literally in tears from re-reading what they said when we got the award.... You have to read it - but don't do it while drinking soda or beer - I'm not responsible for ruined keyboards.

This HAS to be one of the funniest things ever...

Best Animal-Friendly Software Program

Aquazone Digital PC Aquariums - "Aquazone" is so lifelike that you'll swear you have fish swimming around inside your monitor. Users can customize their "tanks" and fill them with fish of a variety of species to their heart's content, which gives them the benefits of an exotic aquarium at the click of a mouse and without subjecting a single fish to a life of abject boredom. Because they are intelligent, feeling animals, fish who are forced to spend their lives in a tiny tank suffer mentally and physically. Scientific studies have proved that fish learn from one another, have long-term memories, and recognize individuals in their schools. Fish gather information by eavesdropping, and they even use tools—which until recently was thought to be an exclusively human capability. According to University of Edinburgh fisheries biologist Dr. Culum Brown, fish's brains "match or exceed those of 'higher' vertebrates, including nonhuman primates."

- Darryl

p.s. I really didn't mean to hijack the Bigfoot discussion - Back to sasquatch :-)

Now THAT is comedy. Since when do fish use tools? Are they out there with their little hammers in their fins just bangin' away at the coral makin a little house for themselves? I just makes you wonder, do these people REALLY believe this crap they spew? If so they need a thinning of the genetic material themselves*jk*

Ohh... We really need to move this to a "humor" forum... The "Fish gather information by eavesdropping" part really cracked me up as well - yes, the fish put wiretaps on their phone lines...

The sad part is that PETA is actually gaining ground, and hunters are loosing ground in this "battle".

You would think that with an opponent that is "wacked" as this, we hunters would easily win. Not the case...

Okay, so most folks on here do not believe in bigfoot? Understandable...but what about Nessie and Champ? I believe in the lock ness monster, I won't lie. Is it that hard to believe that some dinosours may have survived unitl present day? Aligators, certian reptiles, all are considered pre-historic if you believe in that. Not to steal this thread, but I mean it has gone everywhere already, so do you believe in a lock ness monster of some sort?

Well, since you asked... here are my thoughts on that. Alligators, crocodiles, turtles, etc. are all “pre-historic” true but all also exist today! We have proof… in books, zoos, in the wild etc. Once in a great while something unknown gets “discovered”. Take for example the coelacanth. The difference is, the coelacanth was not “sighted” before it’s discovery. It wasn’t romanticized, it had no lore… let’s face it, it just wasn’t sexy. No one creates fabulous tales about a creepy looking old fish… But wild tales of imaginary human like “big foots", land locked, giant deep sea creatures and Antarctic ice men (abominable snowmen) are fancy, sexy and interesting.. that’s what keeps them going. No body would care if there was some mysterious slug sighting in Oregon… Unless it had magical powers or granted wishes or something… So to that end, “human like” “giant”, “abominable” etc. are all words that sell the drama… They perpetuate the MYTH, hype the lore and rope some in as children who never grow out of the FANTASY…

Wake up, snap to it, “grow a brain”… apply some logic and uncommon sense and realize that these things are fairy tales… just like leprechauns, Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, and the perfect woman… they are all fun to fantasize about but we all know they don’t really exist…

Duckhunterflyfisherman-

Good luck on your excursion, BIGFOOT IS REAL! Be very careful...

Barel74-

Why you gotta take down "littlefeet" too?

Dlovato-

Do you have one of those screen saver versions with Big Oscar Fish? When we were kids we had a fish bowl with oscar fish and loved to drop in the gold fish to watch them get chomped on, pure entertainment. Would be a cool screen saver for the NON-PETA TYPE.
