Authorities today released the identities of nine people missing after a mid-air collision this week involving a Coast Guard aircraft and a Marine Corps helicopter off the coast of San Clemente Island.

The crash happened at 7:10 p.m. Thursday, when a Coast Guard C-130 Hercules aircraft collided with a Marine AH-IW Super Cobra Helicopter.

A search began immediately after the crash, and has encompassed a 644-square-mile area. So far, no one has been found.

The missing Coast Guard crew members are all stationed at Coast Guard Air Station in Sacramento – where their aircraft was based, authorities said. They are:
Che J. Barnes, 35, Capay, Calif., Aircraft Commander.
Adam W. Bryant, 28, Crewe, Va., Co-Pilot.
John F. Seidman, 43, Stockton, Flight Engineer.
Carl P. Grigonis, 35, Mayfield Heights, Ohio, Navigator.
Monica L. Beacham, 29, Decaturville, Tenn., Radio Operator.
Jason S. Moletzsky, 26, Norristown, Pa., Air Crew.
Danny R. Kreder II, 22, Elm Mott, Texas, Drop Master.

The missing crew members from the Marine Corps helicopter are:
Samuel Leigh, 35, Kennebec, Maine.
Thomas Claiborne, 26, Douglas, Colo.
