I disagree with Speck. Both people should shoot. If you miss, you can always shoot again, same as if you waited. The possibility of the hogs totally disappearing at the first shot is greater than your chance at hitting a running or no hog at all. Do it. Do it. Don't flinch! I am very confident that I am right and Speck is just picking the opposing side to see if I would reply.
