You can take a second pig, I'm not sure what the cost will be. I can ask George the next time I speak with him.
Since the list if filling up kind of slow, If you have friends that want to jump in, go for it.
Huntr Pat, what kind of info you looking for?
rwlittle, glad to have you. Are you hunting rifle or archery?

Ok guys, I'm going to open this hunt to other boards. I need 4 more to get this hunt booked, but would like more just incase we get some cancelations. It's kind of filling up a little slow.

We camp on the property, provisions needed would be just like if your going hunting for the weekend on public land or going camping.
Kids are allowed, but George informed me non hunters will be $100 for the weekend.

Mel,
I'm thinkin about this one as well. I just got back from a pig hunt 2 weeks ago (North of Lake Sonoma), so I am looking to see if I can swing the funds at this time. I'll advise....Confirming you can bring your quad? What's the restrictions that George places on guys who bring quads?

George allows quads but only for transportation to and from your hunting area. He doesn't allow you to roam the property, there's some pretty hairy areas and he doesn't want anyone to get hurt while out on the quad and he's not around.
Also, for those who are wondering about a second pig if you kill one quick, $300 for the second hog.

Not much interest this time. Is anyone still tossing the idea around on this hunt?
I'll give it a couple more weeks and see how things go, then will call George to let him know we only have a certain amount and see what he says.

economy? who knows. i am out! that is right around my wife's birthday. i cannot afford the shiney gift it would take for me to bail on the festivities.
it is a great spot to hunt pigs. the extra $100 for a spectator? kinda steep. i guess it covers ATV transport?

I'm not gonna be able to do this one. After deer season, I'm headed back to Hopland, CA for a return hog hunt. Wish I could throw down another $400 and join you guys, but its not gonna happen. Hopefully, George will let your run with 7 hunters. Best of luck......

hello this would be my first pig hunt ever if i sign up. As a new hunter though im not too skilled at certian things such as game prep/cleaning. i want to know the best way to go about finding someone to boneand prosess the meat for me, i dont doubt everyone here could answer my question, so that's my concern making sure any animal i take gets put to could use.
thanks, Adam

Adam,
There will be plenty of people there to help answer any questions and help out if you need it.
I talked to George last night, he said the owner has been deer hunting the ranch and says the hogs are thick, we should have a great hunt.
I told him we only have 7 people, he's holding the dates for us for now, but if someone calls and says they want that weekend he's going to call me to see where we are at for the list.
For those who haven't sent me the information and deposit, please do so, I need to get everything to George before the hunt so it makes it easier the day of the hunt.
I have sent PM's and posts on here but still haven't got any replies.
Lets get this thing done and kill some hogs.

Hi Adam,
I'm sort of in the same boat. I've only gotten one pig ever, and while I watched pretty closely, it would be great to have somebody help me gut and skin it. I don't mind getting dirty, I just need the guidance. I think there will be help there.
Once it's skinned, you just need to cut it into pieces that fit into your ice chest. Some folks do their own processing and butchering. If I'm lucky enough to get a pig, it's heading to the local butcher. BTW, I got a huge ice chest at Costco for $70.
There was another thread on game care, I believe a particular dvd is recommended.
Now that I've looked at the location, I'm familiar with the hunting area. There should be a lot of animals there. It can be some tough hills, but they're out there.... I'm really looking forward to this.

Mel-
I'm working OT all weekend to get the money for the hunt and will have my deposit to you next week. I'm also confirming this weekend whether or not I will have one or two other hunters to fill the list.
On another note:
I operate a full service old-fashioned butcher shop in Pt Reyes Station. Anyone who gets a pig and wants to have it processed by me, just let me know. I give a discount to JHO members.
