Garmin GPS 60CSX
Anybody have any experience with this unit? I just ordered one and got the sale price of $341.00 from Dell. They retail for $399.00 pretty much everywhere I checked.

That's the one I use now and absolutely love it. I upgraded a couple of years ago from my old Garmin 12XL. I think you got about as good a price as any I've seen from a reputable dealer.
The 60Csx acquires satellites very quickly, can "find" satellites down in the deep ravines and under thick tree canopy where the 12XL couldn't dream of working. Battery life is great too. After my elk hunt in last years' Washington Hoh rainforest monsoon I can attest to the fact that it is truly waterproof.
I also bought the Garmin Mapsource. I bought a larger capacity memory stick for the unit so I could load all of the maps for Northern CA, Western OR and Western WA onto the unit. I believe this is the only map program that you can actually load the maps onto your Garmin GPS unit.
I have no complaints about the unit at all. However, the Mapsource program is not the greatest. Its ok, but the detail is definitely not as good as some of the other programs out there (Maptech, DeLorme, National Geographic, etc). While you can't actually load the maps from these other programs onto your 6oCsx, they are still great for interfacing with your unit to allow you to plan trips and transfer routes & waypoints. I plan to buy another program soon for trip planning purposes to augment the Mapsource program. I remember seeing some great posts from guys with WAY more map expertise than I have about which products are best.
Good Luck and I know you'll enjoy your 60Csx.

The 60Csx was back ordered, so I went with the Garmin Colorado 400T. I hope I made the right choice. I have a buddy who has one and he loves it. It was a little more money, but he said its worth it. It has the US Topo preloaded on the unit. Hope it was worth the money..

Guys,
I used this place for maps and the best part was they are FREE!
GPSFileDepot - Custom Maps, Ximage hosting, tutorials, articles and more for your GPSr
I am not affiliated with this site, only passing on the info. Just pick up some 2 gig micro SD cards (9.99) and you are good to go. I have the 60CSx on the way from the cheapest place I could find which was walmart.com
I decided to retire my old GPS III+ and saved all my old waypoints that I gathered throughout the years. I loved the III+ but just found out it has an internal battery that takes a dump after about 10 years and Garmin won't replace it and my electronic skills are nill.
