Possibly. Check your internet browser settings. Do you have java enabled?

I went through the settings and changed the security from medium high to medium. That is as low as it will let me go. I tried to add Jesse's to trusted sites but t would not allow me to. It said the prefix has to be https.
It looks like Java is enabled. At least what is listed in the advanced section in internet options.
It still shows up the same way. I can't see any setting I can change for my security software.
Would I enable or disable Java scripts in internet options or another area?

My employer has all video content blocked; I just get a large white square on any youtube posts. I have no problem viewing them at home though. Could it be that videos are blocked for you?
I am at home. I can watch videos on other sites. I will try youtube and see what that does. I went to Java.com and upgraded my java and it still does not work. I appreciate your help.

Nope. Youtube and other video sites still work. I can see the thumbnail picture of youngers freezer but can't see what Jesse posted for the christmas list. Is it possible that this stuff is posted in activex or some other format that I am missing?

You got me. I don't know of any kind of board settings that would relate to video, but I'll certainly take a look around the control panel. It's a very large group of settings so there could be one I've just never seen. I'll poke around and report back here if I find anything.

dglover, the Youtube videos are embedded scripts and ActiveX i believe also. Make sure you have ActiveX set for a prompt each time, you don't want that running free on it's own, too many nasty viri use that to infect computers.
Not sure why you can see YouTube videos on other sites and not here.
What browser and version are you using? What OS? What Antivirus and firewall if any?
If you're on AOL or MSN for your ISP then you need to get off them, they have caused nothing but problems for members here over the years.

I will see if changing the settings for activex will help. My ISP is clearwire. My browser is internet explorer 8. Antivirus is trend micro. I beleive my firewall is windows defender. I am not sure what OS is.

OS = Operating system, like Windows XP, Vista etc.
Can you do me a favor, go to Youtube and copy the embed code for a video and post it here, just for me to see what you see when you do it. The embed code is to the right of any Youtube video.
Also try using Firefox browser to see what my video post looks like.
If I remember right, Westy has this same trouble and he's running Windows Vista with IE 8.0 on a DSL Verizon ISP. I got a feeling it's a Microsuck problem except for the fact you can watch YT videos on other sites.

It's free. You can download it here. That's what I use almost exclusively now. Firefox rocks.
If you use an email client (as opposed to web-mail), I would highly recommend Thunderbird too. It's also free and works beautifully with Firefox passing information from browser to email and vise-versa. You can download it from the same page.
We gotta get you fixed, man. This is hugging the bell out of me.

dglover, the code you posted is not the correct embed code, it's missing the opening tags.
Microsuck, as usual, is losing the battle to Google, who owns YT, and they are making is hard to view Google's content. Google is about to release their own OS which should kick MS azz.
