Uploading pics to photo gallery

I've been trying to upload pics here in the JHO member gallery. Most of the time it says the photo was uploaded successfully, but the photo doesn't show up, where did it go? Sometimes it works the way it suppose to, very frustrating, anyone have any ideas?

Mel, make sure the pics are under the file size limit of 500K.

There is also a file size limit in width and height at 1300 pixels.

The file must also be in .mpeg,.mpg,.avi,.asf,.wmv,.mov,.asx file format.

Holler is that doesn't help

I'll try that. I didn't think there was a limit on the file size. Thanks Jesse.

We gotta cap the file size so folks don't swamp our server with huge pic files. You can get almost any big pic that has a busy background in under 500k most times.

Make sure your camera is not storing the pics as .bmp files. These are way over bloated files, use .tiff, .raw or .jpg to store pics.

If you're really into doing it right, store your pics at the highest resolution in .tiff, or .raw so you can print them anytime and then edit the ones you want for web or email down to .jpg files. Always save the master in .tiff, or .raw and back up, back up, BACK UP! Most pics are a one time deal, no mulligans.
