On sat I went out to look for quail and i did not see any. I had my Fox Pro in the truck so i decided to call. In about 10 min this boy shows up at about 75 yards behind me. I was hoping to to see it in front of me but nothing, the caller wast about 50 yards from me. the coyote was focused on the noise and didnt even see me. Got him with my 270, one shot.:smiley_yahoo:

I will go out again this weekend. This is addicting. I first kept going back because I never got to shoot anything, but now im so happy I want to be out there again.:smiley-mouse:

Hi guys im new to coyote hunting and trying to figure out what I need to make my trip successful.
I will be hunting them with a 30.06 I know the idea gun would be a 22-250 or 223, but I only have a 30.06 and a 870. Would a .22 be enough gun to take a coyote down? I bought a mini phantom e-caller. I wish i was able to get a foxpro but I guess this will have to do.

Now after the kill. I have read that most people leave them were they fall. Others keep the pelts, others keep the skull, or keep the teeth. If and when I get one what would I have to do to keep the skull? Do I just cut it off? What do I do to prep the skull to take it to a taxi? Sorry for all the newbie questions. thanks for your help
