HENRYETTA, Okla. -- A horse that spent the entire winter lost in the mountains of Colorado is now home safe and sound with her owner in Henryetta.
In November of last year, horse owner Jerry Page and "Pumpkin" went hunting in Colorado. But the horse wandered off one cold night and was never seen again.
"We looked all day for her and we couldn't find her," Page said. "We followed her tracks in the snow -- she was dragging the lead rope --we followed them for miles."
Pumpkin was missing for three months, until a snowmobile rider spotted her in a ravine, trapped by snow.
It took another month before the weather improved enough to rescue her.
Eight people on snowmobiles drove 15 miles to reach her, and eventually got her out of the mountains (rescue pictured).
Jerry Page was contacted and was there to bring home the horse.
"I asked the Lord to take care of her and he did, he sure did," Page said.
Remarkably, Pumpkin survived with a saddle still on her back. She is thin and her hair is matted, but is doing just fine.
