Ortega Oaks RV Park??? So. Cal.

Anyone ever been to the Ortega Oaks RV park?????

Taking my daughter camping for the first time tomorrow night. A couple of my friends are taking 5 y/o daughters as well. Tried San Onofre and all the cool beach camping sites but found that they all were booked. This place is close and seems pretty cool for kids..Pony rides, short trail hikes, fire rings (gotta love the roasted marshmallows).

Thought I would give it post and see.

I think that's near Caspers up on Ortega Hwy. I have been to Caspers. That's a nice campground. I took my daughter their for her first camping trip just to make sure that when I took her up to the Sierra's she could handle it. She was 5 at the time. She absolutely loved it!

So, I think you'll be okay with your daughter. If anything does go awry, you're less than 45 minutes from home. Better than being 5 hours away!
