Guys; I have a Milwaukee 12 volt drill. The replacement battery packs cost about $60.00 a piece. I can buy a whole drill with charger and 2 batts. for less than the just the replacement batteries.
I would like to build my own if there is a good source for batterys. The milwaukee battery pack can be taken apart without damage, unlike some others.
Can anybody offer some suggestions on brand or size or amp hour replacement batteries that I could solder to make up a 12 volt pack?

I bought another brand replacement battery at Wally World for $25, then took it apart and fit into my original battery case. It works better than the original now!

The pain is getting the jumper bars properly affixed to the battery. Solder doesn't work cause when you load the drill the solder eventually melts.
Good Luck!

In that case, couldn't you use a hi-temp epoxy or other similar adhesive to keep the jumpers in place?

Most adhesive's are non conductive once they're dry.

I was just thinking that if you were going to do this, you could epoxy some copper strips in place as the jumpers and leave the contact points exposed through the epoxy.
I never thought about rebuilding the battery packs. It's a great idea, if it can be done. I have one or two that need replacing too.

Here's another source of batteries, that I have used in the past --
