Perp that got away should be easy to find once his buddy starts to talk.
They lost the element of surprise strolling into the store with a long barrel.
The guy who grabbed it was lucky that the accomplice did not have a handgun.

In today's society of sheep, very few are willing to take action in a situation like this.
The common sense part of me says that it is a stupid thing to do walking up to a guy with a loaded (probably) shotgun and grabing the barrel.
The other side of me says OUTSTANDING for having the balls to do something while everyone else stands around. The only better situation would be if the guy had a CCW (not likely in Buffalo) and shot the perp.

Had the guy holding the shotgun yanked the trigger when the vet grabbed it the blast would have taken the 2 poor guys behind the vet out.
Tough call, die like a sheep when they herd you into the back room or go out swinging. Not many know what they will do until it happens.

That's exactly why you don't use a long barrel. Too easy to get leverage on your aim.
