Happy Independence Day
The Buck-eye Family put extra effort in to decorating the house this year. We also invited neighbors to come over for a traditional run through the slip and slide, and a brat/potato salad plate. Independence takes on a new light this year. No matter what your political views are, it seems that this country has gotten away from the essence that makes it great. Its traditions seem less important to some, and that is unfortunate. There is a reason that this country is so wonderful. Maybe that reason is unexplainable, but it does exist. To paraphrase Tony Blair when asked about America, "You judge a country by how many people are trying to get in, and how many are trying to get out."
We are a great nation, with great people, and honorable traditions. Enjoy your day today. Say a prayer for those who are risking their lives for the freedom we enjoy. Honor them by rejoicing in the fact that you will enjoy your day with a full plate of food, with no one shooting at your home or village, and close to those that you love. Our best to you all, and God Bless America

Very Nice.
I am smoking some baby back pork ribs today, it has now for some reason become a tradition each Independence Day. It will be another 5 to 7 hours but it is well worth it.
Thank you to all servicemen and to all who provide support for them in the past, present, and the proper future. May God continue to bless America and everyone have a wonderful and safe 4th of July.

And now for the aftermath.
I had one cousin do this to her hand with a silver salute when we were kids.
