Chuam,
It's a great idea however, due to security concerns any mail sent addressed as "Any soldier/Recovering Soldier etc" will be returned to sender. It has to be addressed to a specific person.
However Pitney Bowes has offered to help. They will screen the mail and then forward it to the Red Cross for distribution.
The address to send mail to recovering troops is:
We Support You During Your Recovery
c/o American Red Cross
PO Box 419
Savage, MD 20763-0419
Let's not forget about those who are deployed. To send something to them there are the following:
You can log onto
www.usocares.org and make a donation to send a care package to deployed troops.
Xerox has a website (
www.letssaythanks.com ) of postcards designed by kids that you can send to deployed troops.
