A22 Trail Cam Pics
Went and checked my trail cams yesterday evening. My new Trophy cam is working great. Had to lower it a little to get some better shots. My older bushnell camera is having issues. It gave me a card error. I'll give it another try but it may be headed for the recycle pile. The trophy cam is in a new area. Lots of sign. The bushnell is near my tree stand. There was some sign but since the controlled burn last year I haven't seen the sign I have in the past. Anyhow....on to the pics.

Hey! That looks like my spot! Nicely done.
Hope you see some smokers soon. I'm going to miss the opener. I'll be in AZ chasing lopes. Good luck!

Thanks for the pics. Have you ever had anyone steal a camera? I stopped using them because they would always get stolen. Thanks.

For my trophy cam I bought a lock box for it and use a python lock. For my other two cams I made my own lock brackets for them and use python locks.
I have plenty of pictures of guys looking at my cams. One of my cams is within sight of my stand. Last year was sitting in the stand and watched a guy walk past it, stop, grab a blade of grass and start waving it in front of the sensor. After about 2-3 min of this he finally spotted me looking at him. He waved at me, I continued to give him the stare down until he slunk off the way he came.
The cam was up for about 5-6 days before I checked it. Saw some decent sized tracks in the dirt so I'm hoping to catch something good.

Hey. Thanks. It is a shame that somebody actually steals the cameras. Good thing you have a lock on them. My friends tree stand even was stolen. Anyone ever have any heat from authorities for putting up a tree stand or camera or especially cutting limbs? I don't think that is supposed to be legal?
Thanks!

Haven't had any issues with the authorities, and I've been lucky because the trees I selected didn't need to have any limbs cut.

I had two cameras stolen up there. Sucks.
It's definitely illegal to cut limbs or screw lags into trees up there in the forest. Don't do it. Get climbing sticks and pick a tree that works.

That's probably why I have yet to put a camera out there. I've wanted to for some time now, but I always wondered if people stole them. I'd be pissed off!

I worry about that too but my cam doesnt get pics if it is not out there. Go ahead and put it out. If they steal it then they are only condemning themselves. If not, you will have some fun with some great pictures.

Yeah, but if you only get photos of small critters like that, is it really worth it......? :)

I can't wait for the season to start, I haven't bowhunted in a couple years, but have been practicing a lot for this year...especially since those pics are from my backyard...

I went up today to check the cameras and hang a stand. Found that some had taken one of my cams and spun it 180 on the tree. Looking at the times it was a 1/2 hr after I set it up. Was hoping to get a pic of the butthead but they approached it from behind. So I had ten days of grass wiggling and shadows moving across the picture. Did get a good picture of a skunk. My other camera is still acting up. I think I may have figured out the problem. We'll see next weekend.
The family and I will be at Burnt Rancheria Campground next weekend. Anyone else gonna camp on Laguna?
Weather guy last night said that next weekend is going to be cooler and possibly wet. Looking at the NOAA website, their 5 day forecast of Hurrican Jimena shows it travelling right up Baja.
