That's hard too believe they have the resources for that. Did the photo clearly show that it was your buddy? Could it have been made from an airplane??

i believe it... they are law enforcement so i do believe that if needed the resources they would have no prob getting them... it sounds out of the ordinary for them 2 go to that extent over a hunter crossing boundaries and shooting a bear but they probably have had many reports or have found dead game to were they have to use satelite pics... just a thought

I don't believe it, they most likely used a trail cam or the cam's that are set up in some NF to catch firebugs.
IMHO, if it was true, our war fighters would use it and the wars would be over by now.

Pics were probably taken from a Black Helicopter!
Give me a break, satellite photos to bust poachers? Where in the heck would DFG get the money for that with the lousy budget they have? I call BS on that one, maybe they had his picture, but I seriously doubt they used a satellite.

They most likely took the photos with something like FLIR (forward looking infrared system) from an aircraft, and then they told your friend that they took it from a outerspace.
If they could do it that easy they would wipe out the weed growers, again, the police are BS'ing your friend.

Your last post said you have not seen a photo, now you have. Which is it? Was there a letter stating he was photed by NASA or the NSA? I don't think CA DFG has their own satellite, but I could be wrong.

I dont think DFG would have the resources for that and even if they did there would be no way to get a good enough picture from outer space to I.D. and prosecute a person!

Wow. you'll never be alone in the woods now !
I find this entertaining, but just have to think there is some confusion as I don't think we have a satellite for such use! eric

Wait a minute the DFG has a satellite at their disposal and they still have a hard time stopping the majority of poachers?
Guess technology is not everything it is cracked up to be.
Maybe we should trim the satellite out of the budget and save some dough.
If satellites can be used to catch poachers crossing lines while hunting, why can't we stop terrorism with them?

Uh, Eric of DFG said he DIDN't think they had a satellite for such use. In actuality, satellites are not very useful for things like tracking random poachers. Airplanes and drones are much better suited for that. And the fee for an hour of satellite - moved out of geostationary orbit - is equivalent to years of plane or drone rental.
DFG does most of their poacher surveillance using planes.

He is your buddy, then he isn't your buddy, you saw the pic, then you didn't see the pic, sounds like we know less and less each time you post

Very hard to believe that the DFG has money for SAT technology yet still do not have a POS computer system in place... My money says low tech surveilance photos or trail cam photos.
