I remember this ? being asked some time back. I have been reading about this in a roping magazine.
All rodeo and roping association members are livid
about this. Ford trucks are for sale at every roping I have been to in the last 2 months since this hit the paper. He donated 5 million to Greenpeace and 5 million to PETA. Of course not his money FMC money
He is a self proclaimed enviro leader. Instead of me
taking up your time w/my typing you can read all about it at Ford Motor Company.com on the home page go to Enviromental Initiatives. I personally will not buy another Ford and I have always liked fords.

FMC and their CEO are hypocrites. They kiss up to the cowboy crowd because that's who buys the vehicles and in turn pays the CEO's salary and shareholders dividends. On the other hand they kiss the ass of the enviro crowd to look good in the media limelight. How many Greenpeace and PETA members are buying Excursions and F350's? Probably not many. The enviro's (Sierra Club)were one of the most outspoken opponents of the Excursion (due to MPG and highway safety).Where's the outcry from the enviros against the dirty money (earned from the sale of vehicles) donated to their cause. I guess I wouldn't ask to many questions if someone were to give me a $5 million grant or donation.

Wyokid,
I looked but couldn't find the info that they gave $5mill to the peckerheads. ###Can you give me the link? ###I plan to send them a letter stating that my current vehicles are the last Fords I'll ever own. ###I'll buy a Chevy that supports fishing & hunting.
Thanks,
Paul

Go to fordmotorcompany.com then go to enviro initiatives then to enviro action and you can read all about the groveling or@$$ kissing he does in his speeches to enviro groups. Just left the site got tired of his b.s. ### The article is in ropers sports news. Here goes. The story was validated by Jim Shepard Editor of the All Around, that FMC did donate 10 million to enviromental extremist groups. Acorrding to Jim FMC donated 5 mil to Earthwatch, a "green" organization whose purpose is to destroy ranchers and the entire rural lifestyle. Now ford has matched the first donation with 5 mil grant to the audubon society. Bill Ford FMC ceo is an avowed enviro that has continued to associate with enviro group throughout his 20 yrs in business. At a speech to greenpeace he stated "As chairman of one of the largest corps, I am in a unique position to be a catalyst for change.
If you own a ford and are angry at these donations, first voice ###your disapproval by calling or talking to your local dealer and then phone or fax ar write to Ford and express your displeasure- contact ford at 1-800-392-3673; or write to ford at 16800 Executive Dr., PO Box 6248 Dearborn, MI 48123 or go to there website at http://www.ford.com

### ###The article you were talking about I believe was in the september magazines when the story broke. I think they expected the worst when they heard about the donations. Luckily the money wasn't donated to PETA, they are the #1 opponent of rodeo and roping events.
### Karstic you are right. This is a quote from the article. "It might be interesting to know just who makes more monthly payments on most Ford Pickups-cowboyland or Sierra Club Members, many of whom are living more or less"on the run" for various acts of arson and destruction of U.S. Government property(ours)."
### ###Everybody bear in mind these articles are in a roping magazine, so just like the hunting community they are worried about what these donations wil do to there livelihood or their hobby. But you can believe that money will go to fight everything from weekend campers in the mountains to the avid hunter who pays for his right to hunt with license and tag fees. ###I sometimes wonder where all that money goes, probably to fight all the lawsuits file by the "greenies" against the hunting population.....

###Thanks for the post my typing is not the best would of took me an hour to type all of that. I
think your right RSN may have jumped the gun
reporting they had donated to PETA. Probably
scared them. I had not received my Oct. RSN
til last night and read the article with verification.

Not trying to start a Ford/Chevy war or anything but... Last years Chevy Tahoe brochure was co-sponsored by Quail Unlimited. ###They had quite a bit of info on QU in that brochure. ###Definitely not something that they had to do. ###Could have picked the PBR or something which would have hit most of the same crowd and been less contraversial. ###Good for Chevy.

Chevy is one of QU's corporate sponsors. They are also a partner to DU, the Ruffled Grouse Society, Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation and Texas Parks and Wildlife
Check out http://www.chevrolet.com/relationships/index.htm for more on Chevy's commitment to the outdoors and outdoorsmen. They have associations with the cutting horse and ropers associations, FFA and B.A.S.S. I'm glad my employer chose Chevrolet for their company vehicles.

Thanks for the info guys. Unfortunately there are 3 Fords in my driveway. They will be the last until Ford sees the light!!!! Back to Mopars and GM's for me. paulc- ###Dodge makes a great truck. Many of my friends have them and are happier with them than they have been with the other brands. I will be sending an email to Ford also. ###Scott

I beleive at the time of that artical WC Ford was not CEO, he just got the position this week, that groups that he donated to would not have been my choice , but niether would a ford, i'm not sure but I think Audubon still supports hunting.
Buy a Toyota Tundra if you want a real truck.
