Actually we, the manufacturer and Muzzy felt that with some of the inconsistencies with reel foot breakage, it would be better to stop production at this time until we can determine why some reels are breaking and others are holding up fine. This has not been a widespread problem, but seems to be isolated to a few reels. There are many reels out there that are in use and experiencing no problems and this created a situation with us in not knowing exactly what is causing the problem or how to isolate it. I am expecting a sample in this week to test out some more materials in the reel body and try and help determine with the manufacturer exactly what is causing the problem. All the samples I tested previously along with the prototypes never experienced this problem and the materials and construction used in the frame have been in place for several years without this problem so we are trying to take the best steps to address this situation and ensure that all reels offered in the future will not experience these problems. Not all reels are affected and as stated many are working just fine as they were intended. Once this issue is identified and addressed we will be able to offer the reels again and I sincerely hope this will still be in time before the end of the season. If anyone has issues or questions regarding the reels or Muzzy in general they can be directed to me and I will be glad to answer all of them. In the meantime, those with the reels that are working fine, enjoy them, those with broken ones can return them to Muzzy and we will take care of it.
This has been a tremendous burden to me personally and for the introduction of the reels as I never thought that something like the reel foot would create a problem with the reel with all the work and engineering that went into building the reel. My enthusiasm for introducing this reel to the bowfishing market has definitely took a hit due to these problems we have experienced with some of the reels, but I still feel like this is the best reel offering for bow fishing and I am sure there are many of our reels out there that will perform and exceed all expectations. We just want to ensure that all reels offered will live up to this claim and hope to have the reel available on the market soon again. Thanks, Mark Land Muzzy Products[/b]
