I am wanting to go on my first backpack hunt this year into D7 and was wondering if anyone from fresno would lend me a hand. I would like to be able to go with someone or have someone go with me on a hunt. Since im fairly new to the area don't really know anyone so if anybody needs a backpacking partner please let me know. I would be willing to go with bow or a rifle doesn't matter. Also if anyone wants to get up there early and do some scouting i was thinking about going so if anyone is interested let me know http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-2drunks-singing.gif

Have you narrowed down any areas in d7 that you are interested in checking out? You can do a search on the mule deer section, might help come up with some ideas. Then since we are fortunate to live in Fresno we always have the option of going down to the DFG office on Shaw and speak to a Biologist and pick their brains for areas of interest. They wont tell you where they saw a trophy but they will usually give you some decent ideas of where to begin looking.

SHHH!!! Quit giving away my spots. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-cool-shades-down.gif

Both can be very good areas, if you stay away from the roads. Good luck to you!

Spent some time on the Rancheria Trail. Nice area, never took a buck from that area but my buddy took a nice 4x4 2 years ago. My other buddy took a nice 245lb black bear the same year...
