The 24th annual Springfield Sportsmen's Show, OUTDOORS NORTHEAST, will be Feb. 23 to 26 at the "Big E," the Eastern States Exposition , West Springfield, MA. As the largest 'pure' hunting and fishing show in the Northeast it covers more than a half million square feet of booths, exhibits, seminars and action areas. The Gamefish Center, a giant traveling aquarium stocked with fish of the Northeast is an OSEG exclusive. Among the many features are: Bwana Jim's "Have Alligator Will Travel" live reptile show, "The Dog Pond" where working water dogs under Dave Krassler will perform, two Trout Ponds stocked daily for fishing, a Gamebird Wildlife Pen, a Casting Pool where spin, fly and bait casting experts will perform, teach and lecture. There is also a 'new' baby bear and exotic animal display, the 'new' Crosman Air-gun Range for the kids, RC scale race cars, a paintball range and more!

Smith & Wesson firearms will hold a drawing to give away a model 500 with a 8 3/8" satin stainless steel barrel and five round capacity. The sign-up is at the Smith & Wesson display. They are running another special of three months free range time for signing up for shooting privileges.

Top buck hunting expert Dick Scorzafava , will be giving away thousands of dollars of hunting equipment from dozens of manufacturers at his insightful and practical deer hunting seminars. Some of the larger prizes he will give away at his seminars are a knight muzzleloader, Scent Loc suit, Mathews compound bow, DeerCam scouting camera and much more! . Besides these great giveaways you can expect Dick to give away his best information on calls, scents, rattling, tracking, still hunting and stand hunting. All these products and information help to get you the "biggest buck of your life."

The Northeast Big Buck Club will be holding the 3rd Annual "Northeast Big Buck Classic" where submitted racks are eligible for awards, prizes and drawings, held on Sunday. Bring your deer mount and become part of the largest organized deer rack/mount display in the entire Northeastern United States! New record breakers are discovered every year!

The Northeast Indoor 3-D Championship, IBO World Qualifier, is back again this season! Archers will shoot this great event again with the Mass. Bowhunters Assoc. 30 targets and IBO rules make this a shoot for every level of archer, in The Mallary Complex. Click here for the registration form. On-site shooter registration is welcome.

Back by popular demand is Bwana Jim's Reptile Show, "Have Alligator Will Travel!" 'Bwana Jim' Molton blends educational information with comedy and audience rapport as he handles gators, crocs, snappers and venomous snakes.

'Free Gun Locks' supplied by ProjectChildSafe, will be given away, funded in part by a US Department of Justice grant and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). The sheer size of the Springfield Sportsmen's Show insures the greatest cross section of equipment, seminars, outfitters and guides, at the most competitive prices.

Roger Pyzocha, the top New England fisherman in the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame, holds the Massachusetts record for two of the largest fish ever. Catching trophy northern pike, tiger musky, catfish, walleyes, carp, perch and bass are in his seminar info.

Billy Decoteau, OSEG's own Mr. "Billy Bass" returns with he always inventive tips and techniques that are guaranteed to put more fish in your boat.

Capt. Bill Brown presents the wet and wild action at the 'Stand-up Tuna Fighting Pool'. Show goers will have a chance to land a 200-lb. 'Scuba Fish." Capt. Bill's rapid-fire wit and information is for the whole family, geared to all fishing levels. Bill has fished from the Gulf of Maine down into the Caribbean. His ability to capture big sharks is legendary and sought after in the international community.

Capt. Doug Jowett presents seminars on salt water fly fishing and fly tying, covering the entire Northeast. Dave Pickering will help saltwater fishermen with striper fishing on light tackle from all New England shores. This lineup great line up is a real "Salt Slammer"!

Turkey calling pros Joe Judd of Quaker Boy, along with Steve Peperis of Primos, will return to talk about turkey calling and hunting of wild springtime gobblers. Their tips and techniques will help hunters tumble their toms spring and fall.

Joe Judd has been a hunting pro for the Quakerboy Game Call company for over 22 years. He's a top turkey hunter in the Pioneer Valley, with a great reputation for his informative seminars, his TV program "On The Ridge" and for tumbling big toms!

Turkey callers throughout the Northeast will have a chance to 'strut their stuff' on Saturday at 1 P.M. at the Massachusetts Turkey Calling Championship. Sign up at the NWTF booth.

Marla Blair will bring all levels of fly fishing expertise, from the very basic of casting to fishing the fly line hot spots. Marla is becoming the Northeast's most reknown fly fishing woman with her new book.

The Benoit Brothers return again this year with their special brand of tracking and getting the Northeast's biggest bucks. Down home attitude and common sense hunting techniques highlight their seminars. "The Benoits" Lanny, Lane and Shane, share their vast combined whitetail knowledge with their multimedia presentation.

The Gamefish Center, a giant traveling aquarium with an underwater scene backdrop, returns again and is stocked with a great selection of trout and salmon provided by the State of Massachusetts. The "Sportfishing Simulator' will again be on hand for "free" interactive battles with salmon, smallmouth and lakers to be landed.

Del Delmastro, known for downing big game trophies around the world, brings your bowhunt right to the back yards of suburbia. Urban Bowhunting for Whitetail Deer will give new insight to the in's and outs of scaled down hunting.

Meet TV personality Tim Lajoie of "Camo Country" as he brings his seminars and fun hunting action to the show. Tim's hit show has been toping the charts.

Adding to the Saltwater program this year is Capt. Jim White, the White Ghost, with his techniques of using soft plastics to catch saltwater trophies. His seminars are hot on the heals of his top selling book on fishing with saltwater plastics.

Capt. Andy LoCassio of cable TV's Northeast Angling will share his tips that put big fish on the line on the cameras. His show has had great reviews and a great following with the saltwater fishing crowds.


The Eastern States Fairgrounds, Home of the Big E, is located only 10 minutes from the Mass Turnpike, exit 4 to Rt. 5 South. On Interstate 91, traveling South, take exit 7 to Rt 147. Take exit 6 from the northbound 91, follow E. Columbus Ave. to Boland Way, go left at the light at light, go over the bridge to West Springfield, MA, take Rt. 147 west; show is two miles on left. Secure parking for over 8,000 vehicles.
