Hey all was out sunday ( Last day of Deer Gun season ). I was sitting in a ground blind with my cousin Brad, when a 6 point came out about 60 yards away. I motioned to my cousin to be still, as I put my gun up on my makeshift gun rest ( A y branched stick lol ). I guess he didn't see it untill I was getting ready to shoot, because right ( and I mean EXACTLY ) when I started tp squeeze the trigger and all excitedly taps on my arm and in a frantic voice says THERES A DEER ( Dumb @$$)... It was too late... It was more like .. He tapped on my should ( BOOM, I shot ) then " there's a deer ". With him tapping on my shoulder right when I shot, it kind of through my shot off, and I ended up hitting it dead in the spine with my 3 inch Lightfield Commander IDS ( 12ga ).. The deer dropped instantly and didn't move. I waited about 10 minutes, then went up to it. It was an ok 6 point. No trophy, but its filling up my freezer with venison. If I would have missed, It would have been the last day of deer gun season and the last day of life for my cousin Brad. lol

Congrats TeamRealTreeHD! I was wondering if you did any good this week. After all your chaos, you were still able to back a nice buck. I'm glad to see you were able to get a buck on Sunday. Thats 1 more buck than me and my buddy saw on Sunday. I filled my tags for the year Saturday by shooting a doe. I was hoping my buddy would get a buck, but we didn't see any horns on Sunday. We anyways, there's always muzzleloading for him. Congrats bud!

Thanks everyone... Yeah, hinge... I figured em' out. There is a cornfield on the neighboring property, and I found out they are feeding at night, and crossing back over into the thickets on the property I hunt in the early mornings. So I sat in a off a couple trails on the edges of the thickets waiting for the to cross over... and my wait paid off.... Maybe for muzzleloader.. You, ( or someone else) could accompany me on a hunt.... Just let me know if you or anyone else is interested..

Matt,
As for this year, my season in Ohio is over. I shot my buck during bowseason and I filled my final tag by harvesting a doe during gun season. Good luck during muzzleloading season and keep us posted on your hunts. Thanks for the offer and look me up next year.
Ben
