Getting close to fishing season so I thought some of you might like this. ###When I made this my wife's comment was that I'm a cross between McGuiver and Gilligan. ###I built this for those times when I'm not playing anchor boy on my buddies boat and there is no one around to fling off an inner tube at mach speed. ###I have a jpg drawing to help explain it better if someone can help me post it.
Go out and buy some three quarter inch PVC a bunch of T-connectors and a couple 90's. ###Take your favorite fishing cooler and build a rack around it using the PVC. ###There are two tricks. ###1- make two C-shaped drops under the cooler. ###These will fit around the back of your swim platform. ###2-Then take one of those bolt things you use to tighten up loose gates. ###Cut the eye bolts so one end will fit over you ski hook. ###The other end goes in a hole that you drill in the top cross bar of the PVC. ###Finally, put a couple T-sections on the upper corners so you can slide your rods and net through. ###Use bungee cords to keep them tied down when moving.
There are models out there that are made out of aluminum and run around $200 but this has worked great for me. ###Only down side is that there is no ladder attachment like the commercial model. ###Maybe I'll work on some improvements this year.
I've made a lot of people look bad at the docks with this thing when my cooler is full and theirs is empty. ###So if you see me fishing on the Chesapeake bay, don't laugh!
