i have a marlin 45-70 that i am trying to get sighted in. I really want to leave the factory iorn sights on it but they are bottomed out and it is still shooting low.

ioi

When i look down my barrel i see the sights like that (without the little dots above the straight lines.)

i am using remington factory loads (i think 350grn.)

on adjusting the rear elevation

if you are holding the gun in your hands looking down the barrel i would push the ramp forward to raise the elevation. (correct???) if that is the case then i am on the last click and at 100 yds i am around 2' low.

left to right is ligned up perfect but i really dont want to have to guess about how high to raise it when i am shooting.

thanks for any help yall can offer.

Guy

P.S. What other type of sights would be a good improvement over sstock?
NO SCOPES or RED DOTS, but some other kind of iorn sight.

If you want to raise the point of impact, you have to raise the rear sight.

guyintx purchase a peep sight or ghost ring sights.Take a look at http://www.wildwestguns.com for some innovations on modified Marlin Lever Actions. In left sidebar check Accessories for various sights for Marlin LA they have Ghost Ring Sights plus Scout scopes.
