One of my first projects after I learned to weld was a bow press. ###Not that I really needed one, but I found myself eyeing the splendid looking device that the local archery shop used. ###So, I built a similar one out of some scrap angle iron, 3/4" square tubing, a boat winch, and some rubber rollers found in the boat trailer department of Walmart. ###Total cost, including the flashy red paint was probably only $25, but you have to figure that $20 of that was in the winch alone.

It's been at least six years since I built it, and I have only used it about three times. ###But, I have it when I need it. ###And it sho' looks good!

And coyote170, I really like the looks of your press. ###I were to build another, I think I would build it similar to yours.

I do have one question though, do you have some kind of rubber guard to go on those steel rods when you place your bow in there? ###Seems like that bare metal would be hard on fiberglass limbs.
