I while back I saw a website dedicated to home made ghillie suits but I can't remember where. ###Do any of you guys have experience with this?
In November when I was at a gun show a guy had a booth selling these wierd looking suits. ###He had several on display and many photos on his display board. ###Man the camo effect is amazing. ###This guy uses burlap strips and dyes these strips several shades of brown, olive, and gray.
I'd like to find out more about them but I don't know where to start. ###Maybe we could begin learning together. ###Watcha think?

Bald Eagle,
Here is a link, http://www.ghilliesuits.com
This guy sells kits or the raw materials.
I made one a few years back, had about forty hours in it :banghead: , I made it out of burlap strips but I like this guys idea of using jute twine. Most of my time was taken up in dyeing and cutting the burlap.
Another good place to look is the book "Ultimate Sniper" by Colonel Plaster. He has a good section on making a suit.
Good luck,
Oh by the way, they work great, I was bow hunting with mine and my buddy watched me walk away from him and when he turned his head for a second he said that I just dissappeared.

By the way, what part of southern Ohio are you from.
I go down to the Hocking hills to go rappeling every once and a while.

I had access to some private land in Southern Ohio several years ago. ###Biggest buck I ever saw was down there. ### Was about 7 years ago...I just stopped shaking last week. ###He followed my doe-pee scent trail to about 15 yards and needed to take 2 more steps (that I would have missed anyway becasue I was shaking so bad) to get out behind some brush, ###Instead he turned around and walked away.

I have a small farm in Blue Creek, Ohio. ###It's 128 acres and boarders on the Shawnee State Forest. ###So actually the woods and hunting area is about 1,700 acres. ###22 of the 128 acres is bottom land and used to be a large tobacco plot. ###I plant ryegrass for hay and wildlife food plots now. ###Man, that bottom land is great soil! ###I also plan to put in a 2 acre lake in a year or two. ###My home is about 40 miles west of the farm.
