I recently picked up a new to me 1980 Marlin 336A in 30-30. This is the second rifle I've bought online. A guy was selling this on a Marlin board, and the first was purchased on Jho back when it was JHP. I picked up the 1980 Marlin catalog on Ebay last year. The 375 was first offered in 1980 and finished up as the 375S in 1983 with a cross bolt safety. The 336A with its 24" barrel was a 50's and 60's rifle re-offered in the late 70s and finished in 1980. I haven't taken the 30-30 to the range yet hoping to get it out before deer season opens next month. I definitly didn't need another deer rifle but I've developed a case of online Marlinitis. The next purchase has to be a bigger gun safe I've got them in upside down, right side up, bolts out, slings off, got to make em fit.

Never, ever shoot the 1895 guide gun in .45-70 unless you've got advance permision from the wife for a new addition to the family. Damn fine close quarters rifle!
