I saw a ton of stripers jumping when I was out duck hunting on Saturday. I'm going to bring a rod with me this weekend and give it a go.

Yeah last wednesday I was out in Suisuin and the slough we were hunting in was boiling with bass on the way out to the hunt!
Try soaking a live bullhead!

GD,
I'm a bit of a striper rookie. Can you recommend any lures to use? The water where I hunt is pretty shallow so I'm guessing something that will stay on top.
Cheers,

Foo,
If those bass are chasing shad and busting the surface, try throwing a Zara Spook at them. And hang on! You might also try a white bucktail jig with a chartruese worm as a trailer. White swim baits are also good.
Good luck.

White fishtraps work well...or even 1/4-1/2 oz blue/silver rattle traps....
You can find the fishtraps at extreme angler or norcal fishing if thay don't have them try Fisherman's warehouse...I've found that the conditions need to be specific in order to catch them on spooks and swim baits though...hope this helps...good luck

You guys should listen to GOTDUX on the striper fishing in the bay. He called me up one day and said that the bite was wide open so we went out and caught ten stripers around 10 to 15. Inches that is. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA This guy has caught more bass in the 20 pound class than I have had dreams about. Good luck at little dry creek GOTDUX. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley_stir_pot_ani.gif http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-bs-sign.gif
