In addition to hunting, fishing, and generally being out side. I also like to work on my other hobby. It's a 1953 Willys M38A1 military "jeep." The M38A1 was so successful that it later became the CJ-5. It is the first round fender jeep that was made, and also had a larger engine compared to the "L" head flat fenders. Unfortunatly my engine isn't original, it's a 1966 Mustange 289. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-bag-on-head.gif But don't be fooled, it still has everything else original, and tops out at a break neck speed of 50 MPH down hill with a tail wind.http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-sideways-laff-aqua.gif It also beat out a new 2005 Jeep Wrangler while climbing off road! That had to be a kick in the face to them. Enjoy!
This is how I found it.

Numbers are on it, but it still has the ugly chrome rims

"MUTT" rims, but better than the chrome, and M1919A4 replica.

And a military camp out.

That is a beauty. I grew up driving a '64 CJ5, then a '53 CJ3B. The 3B is still in the family - Still has the F-head 4 banger, but nothing else is stock. I wish I had them both.

Nice, I like all original military gadgets. They are heavy duty & has an emotional tug to it. God Bless. Thanks for the pics. 'Nuff said.

Great looking Jeep. Looks like you did one heck of a restoration on it.

My Grandfather bought a 1945 MJ2A all original back in 1950. After he passed away 6 years ago I out of the whole family, cousins, uncles, my dad and all, I inherited the Jeep. Runs like a champ, but its starting to need updating on the electrical.
