It's one of my life goals, and I figured I better start planning. If anybody has done it, I could use any wisdom you care to pass on.

Hi there! Just came back from the amazon, been going there once a year since the last 5 years. Every trip has been amazing, catching an average of 30 fish a day. the biggest one caught this trip was a 22 pounder.
I suggest you go there at least once in your life, I guarantee you will never regret it.
If you need any more information i will be happy to help,
best regards Bob Anderson

Post it up! I'd love to drag my Musky equipment and lures south and do that. 30th anniversary coming up. My wife would love to see parrots in the wild.
Any pictures to share?

havent downloaded pictures yet, ill do it any day now.
I go to the amazon with riverplate outfitters, staying in the floating barges. They have six different camps working at the same time in different rivers which is really great to solve the problem with high water levels. They move camps daily always looking for places who arent overfished, another advantage to fixed lodges, besides you fish 10 min from camp. going back next year for sure!!!
