Hi, My name is Kevin Putney and I live in Cache, Ok. I attend Lawton First Assembly of God. I am in need of some children's bows and youth bows. I already have purchased 3 compounds for youth and have 3 beginner bows for children. These bows have come out of my own pocket. This isn't sponsored by my church but my youth pastor and I take a lot of people 3-d'ing from our church. Most of these kids do not have a father figure in their lives and so we kind of mentor them. I also have a 30 lb. recurve that I put a longer string on. I use these bows for kids and youth at our church. Last year, I was asked if I could run an archery class for our kids at church. It was for the Royal Rangers(kind of like Boy Scouts for the church) They were needing to learn archery to earn their badge. There were 19 kids that shot plus about 6 fathers. None had ever shot before, and I can't say who had more fun, them or me. The oldest kid that showed up was 10 and he could not pull the 40 lb. bow back. The youngest was 4. So we resorted to using the kid bows. I set up 2 bag targets, a 3-d pig, turkey, and a deer at the church. I had the kids to line up in 4 groups with a father watching each group. All had a blast. I am still having children that I don't recognize talk to me about the shoot. Anyways, if anyone has anything at all including bent, but not split arrows, old compounds or recurve/long bows that a youth or smaller could shoot please respond. You can reach me at the Lawton Fire Dept, at 580-581-3300 or on my cell 580-704-8244.If you need to check me out to see if this is legit, you can call Lawton First Assembly of God at 580-536-9325 and ask for the youth pastor. His name is Jamie Austin. Thanks for your time. Kevin

Hi
I have a tip for you.
Try contacting your local archery shops.
Tell them what a great cause it is for.
And see if you can round up some sponsors.
them just get the word out.
Do A found raiser.

These are just some ideas.
Sorry I could not help more.

Also, never be afraid to check EBay. PM the seller and tell them your situation. It could end up being a write off for their taxes as well. Cabelas may look to sponsor such an event. Also, I see on Outdoor Channel that there are a few handicapped hunters who help sponsor various youth hunting charities. Contact them to find out if they know of who would help you with a couple of bows. You may want to put together a pamphlet of some kind, just to show the legitimacy of your organization. If you dig around enough, I am sure a lot of these will help you. Best of luck.
