Thanks to the excellent pictures posted here by JJhack, Saeed, and James Vee, I have a new goal in life and it is to hunt in Africa. I have always accomplished my goals (not bragging, just stubborn that way) so some day I will hunt Africa, I only hope that I do not need a walker to do it.

Do you have plans to go? Do you know when you will be able to do it? And, what do you hope to hunt for while you are there? I would love to take a cape buffalo, leopard, and warthog anything else would be great also.

Thanks Clutch. I had an invite to go back to S.A this summer for another 3 months, but I don't think I'm going to take it. It was an incredible experience, but I didn't make barely any money while I was there. And being in college, I have got to make some money during the summer months. I'll go back someday though. Would love a leopard, kudu, buff, etc.

I'm there every year on my consession hunting with the guys who come over to experience the African bush. When you get ready to go get a hold of me and I will set up the most affordable trip you will find for real game that runs wild. Not that Eastern Cape put and take non-sense.

Badger, I think you'll be happy with that hunt. I heard Benny runs a real nice operation.

It's low on my list of priorities, but a priority nonetheless. I'm interested primarily in plainsgame, waterfowl and upland bird shooting.

I just happened to be browsing through here, and my interest perked up. What does it cost roughly to hunt buffalo and lepord in Africa?

I'll be hunting Leopard and Sable primarily beginning on June 28th for 14 days in the Lemco area (Chamalaya camp) of Zimbabwe with HHK safaris. Maybe I'll also shoot an Eland, Kudu and Bushbuck if they present an opportunity. I'll also have to shoot some bait animals for the Leopard baits. For cost info go to "www.hhksafaris.com". They have all the info you'll need to get an idea of the expense and game availablity.

We just got back on 3/7 from Kimberly S. Africa, we hunted with Benny Lategan Safaris. They did a superb job. I would highly recomend them to anyone. I went with a couple hunting buds and our wives. Here is some pictures of mine and my wifes animals, along with my favorite photo.

I have been saving for about two years now. When I go, I am going for lion, leopard, and cape buffalo. It's going to be atleast another decade before I have enough. But thats ok, a person needs something to look forward too.

Clutch, We went for a 7 day Safari and 5 days in Cape Town for sight seeing. We travel around the world and I have to say this was one of our better trips. We hunted hard and saw plenty of game. A typical day: 5:00 a.m. getup small breakfast, hunt til 11:00 a.m., go for brunch and take a nap til 2:00 p.m. and hunt til dark. We had a pedometer and averaged 5 miles a day on our feet, and it felt like we were on our hands and knees for a mile every day stalking. It was a fair chase game hunt for plains type animals no driving and shooting from trucks. I almost had a shot at a Kudo but it stopped with a smaller one in back of it. Very stately animal and I will never forget that moment of excitement. We all recovered everthing we shot . The only other animal that we got was an Elan. The only thing I would suggest is to take a Knee support type brace, for when your on your knees stalking along with mechanic type gloves for your hands. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-faces-toast-beers.gif

There's no question I will hunt in Africa but I'm looking at it as a retirement trip or after I buy a business that does well and have more flexibility to schedule time-off. I'm looking at probably 8-10 years out at the soonest. Maybe a 50th birthday present to myself and take my wife to Victoria Falls afterwards for our anniversary.

I just hope JJHack is still guiding then so he can arrange a great hunt for me~!

Meanwhile, I'll be going to NZ to visit my sister and her family so will be visiting and hunting there before I go to Africa.

I will be heading to Namibia in September for my first plains game hunt. I will be hunting for Greater Kudu, Gemsbock, Springbock, Impala, Blesbock, Warthog, and Jackals. We are hunting with Makalaan Safaris.

My second trip will be for leopard and cape buffalo. I am saving for that one now.

Good Hunting,

Bob

Thanks. Bennie is good guy. He has been donating to our Safari Club for the last 4or 5 years. I have had nothing but good reports about him. He told me that he was starting bow hunting at our show this past year. I’m counting the days (17) till we get over there.
