These are pictures of a buck that I shot in Sept 2004 that for the life of me I don't know why he didn't go down. These cam pics were taken around 1/10/2005. I always wondered if he lived or not.

I hit a big 8 point in the shoulder blade 2 years ago. The broadhead seemed to wedge into the bone and broke my arrow shaft about an inch back behind the broadhead. All I found was my broken arrow shaft and blood for a little ways. I'm guessing the shaft(carbon) broke when the buck took off it snapped off against a tree. I pretty sure that buck lived as well. I searched the area for a week and even with some dogs until I finally excepted defeat. Those animals are tough and just an inch this way or that way can spare their life. Hopefully you'll get him next year.

Once buck i shot had a broadhead in it from 2 months prior, my buddy hit it a tad low & the buck showed no sign of injury. Your deer will even be bigger next year. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-gunfighter-yellow.gif No worries, he's fine!

That's a really nice buck! It is hard to believe that that shot did not do the trick. Oh well, looks like you're going to have a good chance next year! It seems that he was affected by your camera...changing directions after seeing the flash?? Good luck next year!

oh, by the way, there is a deer spine at Big Als archery in Seabrook NH and it was a gun shot/killed deer, but it had a 100 Grain Thunderhead in its spine, that the bone had grown around for years! check it out sometime.

There is a good chance you hit something hard if you shot him at the spot you indicate there. I always aim from mid point on the body to 1/3 of the way up from the briscut depending on the hight of the treestand unless the deer is real, real close.
That is definitely a nice 8 point. I don't know if my monitor is brighter or not but he has real nice brows from what I can see. Very tall and symetrical brobably close to 8 inches or so. I love long brows!!!
Go get him next year!!!! He will be a corker then!!!!!! http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-faces-toast-beers.gif
