There has been alot of noise on a couple of Texas based hunting boards. Apparently a guide was making promises of guided hunts and taking money only to not be found when the time of the hunt arrived. Many hunters are out thousands of dollars.

The guide's name is Dusty Barber with Cut'em guide service, and he has cheated many people. I had a couple friends left high and dry by this guy. He used forums to advertise his services and to "talk up" the caliber of his hunts. Really sad to see and hear.

The majority of his hunts are around Collin County. (close to the DFW area)

People have been coming out of the woodwork on a couple of the forums. They are pretty upset and looking for the law.

I think he may have lived in Collin county. He was caught a couple days ago and put in jail in Shackleford county. People are lining up to file charges. Some of them from 2 years ago.

Word spread pretty quick on the web. I guess he should have used a different medium to con people. He even used his real name, phone number, address, etc to line up hunts.

This story is getting more visibility. It looks like his charges include several felony accounts in various counties.

Ain't nuttin new! i remember a scam a few years back where a guide? would unlock a ranch gate for his hunters BUT whne the owner/ foreman arrived he informed them that outfitter had cut their lock and put his on in hopes of not getting caught- clients out $$ guide long gone- others didn't show around Uvalde area or used the old bait and switch on exoctic huntsd- gotta do your homework before booking guys.
