LEXAR MEMORY STICK AND SONY P32

I have a Lexar double sided 256 MB card that is getting a formatting error 13:01 on the P32 camera......Is there anyway to remedy this problem or is the card ruined...I loaned it to someone and they didn't turn the card reader off before they unplugged it,,,,the other side of the card works fine......I have tried formatting with the camera and it tells me error again....Just curious if anyone else has had this problem and will be able to help or is it ruined....\
