Met my friend at the MDR launch ramp at 5:00am and got a tank full of live squid and we headed up the coast to Pt Dume for some bass and halibut fission. Amazing what a clean carb in my yamaha can do. Caught about 14 sand bass, 1 short ling cod, 1 mantis shrimp and 17 short halibuts. We fished from Pt dume, the BKR, Malibu and the getty. Got windy early up around the Pt and we had a good bass bite going for awhile but all the bass were caught in 100'+ water half on leadhead & squid and half on swimbaits. Some of dem bass came outta the water eyballing me like my mother in-law when I skip church during the waterfowl off-season( she's the pastor) so I destined them to be rolled in crushed potato chips and fried in garlic butter. The rest we let go for karma.
