How do you fish the mini jigs? Do you cast out than real or slow troll from the float tube? Real in fast or slow? Any weight, bubble, or bobber? I have tried to use them from shore and the tube without sucess.

Socal ###I dont have a float tube. I use them from a boat mostly. They are great for crappie and trout.
When fishing for crappie, I usually drop them into brush or cast around brush and reel them in very slowly. From shore you need to use a bobber or they will drag on the bottom when reeling them in.
For trout, I wind them a little faster. I change colors and speeds until I find the one they want. I have used them in rivers with good success also. ### ### ### ### ### ###Fubar
I have some of the Turner mini jigs and normally fish the under a thill mini stealth float. ###I mostly use them in streams. ###Works just as well for crappie and bass in some lakes like Castaic. ###I usually use blue fox Foxee jigs for crappie though.

Socal Hunter, Mini jigs work great. I use them up in Big Bear Lake. I use a Lite action rod 5 to 6ft. with 6lb. line and a clear bobber with a 3ft. leader. The jig colors that I use are pearl white, bubble gum, red and white, black and white. When you cast them out let it sink and ###real and jerk the jig in. It works for me...Good Luck

A little hint on the mini jigs. Berkley makes that trout attractant. Put that stuff on them and when others can't get I bite you can't keep them from hitting the jig. Best part about it is not telling anyone one what you are doing. When I’m asked what I have caught my fish on I use the same line I guy once told my friend when we were about 13/14 "skill and technique".

mini jigs are one of my favorite freshwater lures.. those of you that backpack into eastern sierra lakes and creeks these lures do great..
at lake perris slow trolled with a float tube will get you huge blue gills, trout and bass as well. the slower the better from my experience..
i like white, yellow/white and somtines pink/white.. can tip with worm or cricket...
chris i will have to try that scent stuff. sound like a good idea..
lite line and slow is the key.

Try them in the Lower Owns, Pleasant Valley and the Upper Gorge. ###Browns love them. ###But remember, let the browns go and keep the Rainbows.....hronk
