Snook season just opened up Sept 1st. I have been seeing good schools of them in ski alley and arround stump pass. Mangrove have been bitting at night in all of the passes. Redfish are thick right now since all the white bait moved in. E-mail me when you get in town and if I don't get sent to the East coast to help with the Hurrican I can help you out with some good spots.

Whistler,
I got your e-mail, sorry my e-mail is not letting me send any thing out. I just changed it, so it should be working now. I will get you my phone number if you can make it down and I will let you know where they are catching them.

Here is a Redfish my daughter caught the other night. We ended up catching 12 that day, the smallest on 20 and the biggest one 26 inches.

NICE FISH. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-clappin-yellow.gif Granddaughter is 7, she would love to do that. I should be so lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last year I caught 3 redfish and 3 snook in and around Stump Pass, only 1 red made the min. Two yrs ago I got a snook on that would have made the slot, jumped several times and finally cut my leader. Changed to spiderwire right after that, caught a small fish but nothing like the first.

Flfisherman, want to thank you for the info packet. Especially the map and your time and effort in bringing them by.
We continued to fish the ski alley area. Would liked to have tried other areas but wind was too strong and the wife gets seasick. We picked up three more redfish, two of which made the slot. We also lost two more fish due to broken line....based on your info and info of others staying at the Weston, my guess is that they were snook .... We also fished the piers just south of Stump pass, caught a few gray snapper that were keepers and several pompano that were not. Caught a number of 1 to 1-1/2 lb Pin fish.
Will make a few changes in rods for next year and anchor out a little further from the mangroves.....Wife wants her float back that the one fish broke off.....
Plans are to return next year with the granddaughter. First stop will be Disney World and then a few days at the Weston.
Again, thanks for the help and look forward to talking with you in the future.

Glad to hear you caught a few more fish, wish it wouldn't have been so windy. The Flounder seem to be moving in now and a few big ones are showing up. Let me know when your coming down again.
