Hey cmmorales3
Parts of it are closed according to the Press Enterprise. No. of Arrowhead,Pinnecales and some others.
They will likely close all 1 week before season opens as in the past unless we get some rain.

Check here.:

http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sanbernardino/fire...strictions.html (http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sanbernardino/fireandaviation/firerestrictions.html)

They seem to be keeping this updated.

towards the bottom of the page are maps of the closed areas.

The maps are a good start but I would also call the Ranger station for the district that you want to hunt in.

I actually drive up and check gates and closures myself. The people who man the USFS are notorious for being anti hunters and spreading wrong info. One year they opened a big chunk but didn't tell anyone on the last weekend of rifle season. YOu just might find yourself out there with no crowds.

Ditto!

Like Jesse said, it's best to drive up and check for yourself. Often times information and hearsay just aren't that reliable. The anti hunters (and there's plenty of em) like nothing better than to do their part to keep you out of your huntin grounds. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-peta-sucks-sign.gif

REMEMBER the BLM areas surrounding the SB Nat Forest were open the last time there was a fire closure so CHECK with the BLM. Some bear and deer came out north of Cherry Valley a couple of years ago.The bear were feeding in the pomegranate groves according to my son who helped some hunters drag out a deer.
