Hope Karstic's info is wrong. I'm sitting in Lancaster and didn't feel a darn thing.

That's affirmative Scott. The first quake reports are generated automatically by a computer, then they get reviewed by a seismologist. It seems that the computer spit out the wrong answer.

I thought that was ESS getting loose w/ himself again. He does that from time to time. He puts on an old women’s gymnastics video, puts on some comfortable loose fitting shorts, lights a few candles, plops down on the sofa w/ a bottle of lotion and goes at it. He says it relives his stress.
Anyhoo – Glad it know it was just an earthquake.

Didn't feel a thing in my work truck in Pomona. I had just hopped in too.

I definately felt it in Santa Ana. Funny thing is, other people in the same office and just a few feet from me didn't feel a thing. To me there were no ifs, ands, or buts, I felt it no problem.

I felt it. I was talking to a client about 30 miles from where I'm at and he said simultaneously with the quake "did you feel that?". He thought his dog ran into his chair and when he went to yell at him, he wasn't there.
We had 2 first-timers here in our office. The guy thought it was cool, the girl started crying. I guess it just affects people differently. Personally, I think they are fun.

Hey, while it happened for all of the 5 seconds, it was sunny and warm. No hail damage, crop damage, and didn't have to go in the basement. Business as usual. I even took the dog for a walk afterward.

Ah, just a little shaker. The first time I saw a concrete pad move like liquid I about lost it.

Oh yeah, Landers turned my yard into jello.
Best quake was up in Mammoth about 7 years ago. I was tubing on Lake Crowley with my father in-law when our tubes just burbed straight up. Not a roller like from a boat wake. We both had that "what the heck" look on our faces when we saw the worm dippers on shore running in a panic. Found out later it was a 5+ centered about 5 miles away.
Worst part was the fish bite shut off for the rest of the day http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-crying-blue.gif

We've got some CalTech sensors up near one of our commo sites. One day I was bored and wondered what clamping my jumper cables onto the sensor wires would do. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-devil.gif There is also some computers in our building. Wonder what the head tech guy would do if we inserted a 8.0 quake on a floppy?

I was in Big Bear for the Big Bears/Landers quakes and it was a trip to look down the street during an earthquake and watch the surface waves roll the asphalt like a swell in the ocean.

I didn't feel a thing as I was sitting at the office(about 5 miles from downtown SD).
Heard the local Siesmo guy on the news saying that fault is due for a 7+ anytime soon. I might feel that one! http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-hair-raisin-blue.gif
