Hey Friends,

I have a buddy of mine who I just introduced to the website yesterday. I am confident that he will be a new member soon. He has just bought a new boat and is starting to fish in the Newport Beach area, but will fish anywhere in SoCal. He has absolutely no idea how to fish saltwater, as he is from Utah. He is bound and determined to hook in to a shark or two. I was raised in Florida, so I know nothing about fishing this area as well. I wondered if you guys and gals could give him a welcome by giving him ideas on a typical shark set up, baits, etc?

Thanks!

I'll be gone the 11th through the 20th but when I get back have him e mail me and I'll dial him in. Shark fishing is my speciality. He should als check out the boards at www.allcoastsportfishing.com. There are a bunch of OC fishermen there.

Good place to learn some local stuff and ask questions. I was out last Saturday and we managed 3 mako sharks. I fish North of you out of the Santa Monica Bay.
